What a fantastic read (and part two also), a real insight into what’s being read. I didn’t realise Librarians had such an important input into what children read! After your first post I’ve asked my local Library to post a list of the top ten/twenty books that children are reading. I think it’s really interesting to know what’s popular, it gives a real insight into what kids are thinking….

Thanks for this series – it’s been really useful and this last one is encouraging as my Jason Willow is fantasy/action (demon stuff), appealing to boys and got a good review in The School Librarian (Summer 08).

Any plans to interview bookshops (independents/associations/chains) with a view to finding out the same sort of info?
